Glycol Chiller Pak, Batch One
Well I brewed this weekend a Marzen/MaiBock and put the batch in my Glycol Chiller Pak. Sitting on the back porch nearly 100° outside, and it was sitting right at 62°. Got to luv that. This is my first run but I think Tim has had about 2 or 3 batches on his. Can't wait to see how it turns out.
Recipe for 11 Gallon Batch
11lbs of 2-row
9lbs of White Wheat
2 lbs of Carapils 40L
2000ml of WLP320 American Heffeweizen Ale Yeast
30 mins of O2
60 Min Mash
2 Table spoon 5.2
Pre-boil Gravity = 1.055
60 Min Boil
Starting Gravity = 1.062
Terminal Gravity = 1.016
60 Min Boil
Hop Schedule
60 min 1.5oz of Hallature (A = 4.4%)
30 min .5oz of Hallature (A = 4.4%)
15 min 2 tabs of whirlflock
10 min .5oz of Fuggle (AA = 5.8%)
Final Volume 10.75 Gallon
Ferment at 62° for 14 days
Cold Crash at 38 for 4 days
Keg and force Carbonate at 8psi
Cold age at 37 for 2 weeks
