Newbie Guide
I purchased a Mr. Beer Kit to try my hand at some brewing and to see if I liked it. My first batch was decent, but lacked the carbonation to be any good. Are there any suggestions for any equipment that might make my next batch a little better than the last?
I was thinking of getting a capper and using glass bottles instead of the plastic bottles with the twist caps I used in my last batch. Good or Bad idea?
Thanks in advance.
Craig
Mr. Beer has done more to turn people off of homebrewing than most anything else. I have had to explain to way too many people that the beer I make is going to be nothing like the Mr. Beer stuff.
Check out morebeer.com. They have some really good starter kits for good prices. They also have quite a long selection of extract and all grain kits tht come with all the ingredients. Their forums are also really good and have a wealth of information.
Come to our next meeting. There are plenty of guys in the club that are more than willing to help you out. You might even find someone who is stepping up to all-grain that may want to sell some of their extract kit, this may be me soon. :D

Definitly a great Idea. There are tons of things you could do to get better results. The first would be to stay away from the Mr. Beer kit, I have had some of that stuff before, scary, but you can Go to Beer Beer and More Beer and for about 100 you can walk away with everything you will need to make great beer! Just don't make it in this crappy 110 deg weather.
