New Sparge/Recirculation lid
Before I started brewing again I needed to build a new sparge/recirculation manifold. I decided to build it into the lid for the mash tun.
The sparge lid also allows me to put a thermowell down into the mash thru the center mounting piece. This will let me take Mash temp measurements at any point I want and adjust for grain bed depth. Still need to get the thermowell.
The manifold is a length of soft 1/2" copper tubing. One end is capped the other has an ell on it that passes thru the lid. The coil is soldered onto a length of hard copper tubing that is held to the lid by two eye bolts. The SS QD will connect to one of my hoses.

Got to try out the new Sparge/Recirc manifold and brewed a simple Saison. Manifold worked GREAT.
Recirculating.

Saison fermenting

Pulled some wort for a sanitation test too.

Made a video too.

After two weeks the sanitation test is still clear. Need to keg the saison but the new pain meds are making me loopy. WEEEEEEEEEEE!
Would be nice to have tapatalk installed so I can post again more often from my iPhone since work has everything blocked.
