Alton Brown does homebrew
Did anyone happen to catch Alton Brown (Food Channel 'Good Eats") doing an episode on homebrewing tonight? I didn't catch much of it, but it looks like he did an extract with steeped grains, an Amber ale. Unfortunately, I was too busy to stop and watch the whole thing, but the beer he poured sure looked good. 3 out of 3 on appearance in my BJCP judjing slip! Ha! He probably was pouring Bud Ale. I just threw that comment in for those of you "Big Three" super-haters out there. Jim, load up on stuff at the shop...Brew it and they will come.
I have that episode on DVD. I love the little yeasties that try to attack his beer.
I have seen that one also. I don't remember him being unsanitary really. He used Bleach to clean everything. But all in all it was good to see it make prime time and simple for the hobbiest that is trying to get started. Used a basic bucket kit, etc. Pretty good over all.
Glad to see it make some what prime time. I watch Good Eats show regularlly. Pretty cool.

I did see that episode before. If I remember, some of the stuff he did was kind of unsanitary and could have been explained a little better. All in all I thought it was a great show and will hopefully get more people into the hobby.
