Slowly reintegrating into the IE again...
Howdy all,
Im glad to see theres a brew club around that isnt dead set on over hopping everything (not that its a bad thing, just has its time and place). Either case I thought I'd make an introduction on here now that Ive gotten a chance to brew a few batches and reorient my fermenting to the So Cal experience... and weather!
In brief the name is Joshua Kunkle and though I grew up in Murrieta, I moved away for the past 8 or so years for schooling, of which 6 of those years where in San Francisco, which if it had nothing else to offer had awesome weather for brewing. Been brewing partial grain since 2007 and with the extra space I have now the hope is to transition into all grain, hopefully Ill learn a trick or two here. In the meantime the trick is to remember to make it to any and all of the meetings and I look forward to eventually getting to meet with as many of you as I can.
Until then and for conversations sake, Im currently brewing a gravity monster of a beer (OG 1.100)... a recipe I loving call a honey orange pale ale, or HOPA for short using a trappist yeast. So far the process has been going beautiful (FG 1.010) and I got the sucker carbonating right now, cant wait to sip on the finished product which despite the alki content has an awesome flavor profile! If I manage to stash any away Ill share at the next meeting to anyone interested, figure it would be a nice "how do ya do" moment.
Look forward to meeting and greeting at the next meeting, take care and adios till then!
Glad to hear from you, come to the next meeting on the 21st of this month and bring some along =)

Welcome back Josh!
