I just rolled back into town, and wanted to share some festival highlights with those that couldn't attend. As a tent camper, I'd like to thank all the RV folks for being so hospitable to us and keeping us so well fed. The Saturday morning breakfast was an amazing spread of food (not really aimed at the vegetarian pallette;) lots of good breakfast meats for certain.

We didn't quite fill all 23 taps this year, but would have come very close if we had brought along a few more pin lock connectors. Our beers were received well by the festival attendees, and several of them were very highly complimented by many people. We killed 3 full keggs on Friday night (probably would have been more if we hadn't cut off pouring all but 3 of them) being the only club serving at the fest sight. Eric's 13% Belgian Quad and his 12% Chocolate R.I.S. were consumed with a vigor and didn't make it to the Saturday event. We stopped serving all but 3 beers in order to conserve beer for Saturday, however, we also went through a keg of Porter brewed by the John and the Der Beerminator group.

Bob's Dortmunder was mentioned by Thomme Arthur as his pick as one of the top 2 best beers at the festival (Way to go BOB). We had 3 meads on tap, which were all popular, and Steve's Chile beer had a loyal following of fans. We made sure everyone who drank Frank's American Pale Ale knew he was there in spirit, but was in the throws of labor (so to speak)during the event. We had several stouts, as well as IPA's going, and each one of them had it's own unique group of devoted fans. Good job people!

I am looking forward to our next meeting where, I'm sure, we will begin discussing our Theme for next year's event. I am already excited about it, and the amazing beers that should come from it as well.

See you all soon,
Shaun McBride

Amen Shaun! Also to blow Shauns horn, because he wont. His Siason and the Export 80 were highly received by a great many. A big thanx to the Craft Brewing guys for hosting the Group Meals. I am so looking forward to next year and the ideas for gimmicks to the theme discussed are flowing. I also a a post-fest Tshirt idea I will throw together for yeas or nays.

I have pictures I will download and make up an album so that others can be added.

What a great time!!!

And remember FOCUS!

If you ever need someone to drink beer with, I´ll drink beer with you. If you ever need a shoulder to cry on, I´ll drink beer with you. I guess what I´m trying to say is: I love to drink beer!
